How to remove a broken Makita 6408 drill chuck?
Question
I have a Makita 6408k drill, which appears to have no retaining screw for the chuck. The chuck is stuck in the open position (cannot manually close it either) and needs to be replaced. When I try to insert a large bent allen wrench into the chuck and hammer counterclockwise to remove the chuck, the chuck just spins with the wrench. Is there another way to remove the chuck?

What is the exact torque on the lowest setting for the Makita DF030DWE?
Question
The Makita DF030DWE has 18 Torque settings, the highest torque is 24Nm (Newton Meters) on setting 18
What is the lowest on setting 1?
Thanks guys, 14 Newton Meters corresponds to the highest torque on a soft joint, and does not correspond to the lowest possible torque in newton meters.
Thanks for the info regarding battery degradation, being a factor.

Im looking for a makita drill belt hook?
Question
I'm looking into buying a new Makita drill and the one I've picked out has a screw and grove were you can attach a belt hook to the handle, now some of the other models have this hook included with the drill but this one does not, I've tryed to look for this hook online and in stores but havent had any luck so far, any ideas?
Answer
Think about buying a generic hook that goes on your belt instead, rather than not having exactly what you want but don't have and can't find.
How do I take the keyless chuck off of the Makita BDF452?
Question
I have a Makita 18v lithium ion drill, the black and white one. Model # is BDF452. The head will not hold my bits very well, and it is hard to open and close the keyless chuck. I was going to replace the head, but I am having trouble taking it off. I opened it all the way and took the screw out of the middle, but it still does not want to come off. Somebody please help me!!
Answer
After removing the screw ….insert an allan wrench {short end} into the chuck and tighten chuck on wrench. Use a big enough wrench so it will not flex.
Put the drill in “low” (#1) and set the clutch to “drill” position.
Rest the drill on the floor or a bench, and with a dead blow or rubber mallet give it a few whacks……. I believe the threads are standard so you will be smacking it towards counterclockwise
